5 Days chimpanzee habituation & gorilla trekking Uganda primate safari

This 5 Days chimpanzee habituation & gorilla trekking Uganda primate safari will take to Kibale forest national park the Africa’s primate capital for the chimpanzee habituation experience and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park the home to the half population of the world’s mountain gorillas for gorilla trekking. This Uganda primate safari is good for people who would want to have special experience and to spend much time with chimpanzees. Chimpanzee habituation is the procedure of preparing chimpanzees getting used to human beings around them. Chimpanzee family that is under habituation takes about 2 years to be ready human beings.

 

Day 1; Pick up from Entebbe airport / Kampala city –Drive to Kibale forest National Park- Bigodi swamp evening nature walk

On your arrival at Entebbe international airport or after your early morning breakfast, meet a safari driver guide from Africa Adventure vacations for briefing about your 5 Days chimpanzee habituation & gorilla trekking Uganda primate safari and later set off to Kibale forest national park in western Uganda. Kibale Forest national park is the primate hubs with about 13 primate species making it the best destination for primate encounter safari in Africa. Before reaching the park, you will have an en-route stop in Fort-portal town to have lunch then go to Bigodi sanctuary swamp for a guided nature walk. This sanctuary swamp inhabits a variety of wildlife species such as 8 primate species such as Red colobus monkey, Grey checked mangabey and many bird species and some are endemic to this swamp, sometimes these species my miss in the park and meet them here. So, visiting this swamp is very adventurous to its visitors.Later go and check in at your lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight

Day 2; Kibale Forest National park – Chimpanzee Habituation experience

On this day, wake up early in the morning to have your breakfast and meet your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for briefing regarding how to behave during your chimpanzee habituation walk. Later, start your forest walk to search for the chimpanzee beginning from where they last seen making nests and then start following them. During chimpanzee habituation walk, you may encounter other wildlife species such vervet monkeys, olive baboons, bush babies many forest bird species and butterflies. So, your guide will be able to give you information about everything that you will encounter. You will learn much about chimpanzees’ individual and group behaviors and also you will a chance watching researchers and UWA ranger guides giving names to individual family members, collecting research samples from individuals and preparing them to get familiar to the presence of humans. You will be trilled watching chimpanzees hunting mostly when they are chasing small monkeys, swinging in the branches of trees, feeding their babies and making their nests. After spending your day with chimpanzees, return to your lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight

Day 3; Kibale Forest national park – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park

After breakfast at your lodge, check out and embark on your drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park the best destination for mountain gorilla encounter in Africa. It is believe that Bwindi Impenetrable forest national part inhabits half of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorilla. Your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park will take you through Queen Elizabeth national park so, you may encounter some wildlife species such as elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, topis, caped buffaloes and your driver guide will able to give you information about everything that you will encounter. On your way, you will have an en-route stop to have to have lunch and later proceed with your drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park to check in at your reserved lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight.

Day 4; Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park – Mountain Gorilla trekking – Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

After your early morning breakfast, meet your driver and drive to the park meeting point for briefing by the park rangers about how to behave during gorilla tracking. After briefing, you will be divided in small groups of 8 people each group. Thereafter, begin your gorilla trekking walk under the guidance of your UWA ranger guide. Your walk might take between 2 hours to 8 hours before meeting the mountain gorillas since it is reliant on the location and movement of the gorilla family that is allocated to you.  So, you should expect to walk long distances in muddy and deep in the forest. Meeting Mountain gorillas playing, feeding and hunting is the most wonderfulwildlife experience and you will spend one hour watching them, following their moments in the forest and taking as many photos as you would want so, you have to keep your camera well changed and on standby to capture all your moments with mountain gorillas. After spending your one hour in the forest with mountain gorillas, return to the park office to pick your trekking award, have refreshments, enjoy your packed lunch and set off to Lake Bunyonyi to spend your evening relaxing while bird watching and canoeing. Dinner and an overnight

Day 5; Lake Bunyonyi – Return to Entebbe international airport / Kampala

After having your early morning breakfast, Check-out and start your return drive to Entebbe international airport  passing through rolling hills with terraces of Kigazi highlands and Ankolegrazing region with their incredible long horned cattle lush savannah vegetation with an en-route for lunch at Kayabwe Equator crossing point, buying souvenirs and watching water experiment then continue with your drive to Entebbe international airport for your return flight or dropping you at any hotel in Kampala and this will be the end of your 5 Days chimpanzee habituation & gorilla trekking Uganda primate safari
